The Adventure Begins as Monster Hunter Wilds Now Available

The latest addition to the Monster Hunter franchise is finally here. Monster Hunter Wilds has been released and available for the PC, PlayStation 5, and the Xbox Series X/S.

The game offers a truly satisfying story campaign from start to finish as it puts hunters in the center of an ecological mystery and set in the uncharted Forbidden Lands. Players take on the role of the lead hunter of the Expedition Team’s Avis Unit. They get to unravel a mysterious quest that's full of danger, compelling characters, and a fully realized world brings them face to face with a long-forgotten threat. Players get to perform heroic feats through their hunter while also hunting what appears to be unstoppable monsters in the Guild’s quest to bring balance to an unstable ecosystem.

Meet the Monsters

One interesting feature of Monster Hunter Wilds is that each locale has a powerful apex predator that rules at the top of the ecosystem. The four monsters are Rey Dau, Uth Duna, Nu Udra, and Jin Dahaad, all new to the series. They've been shaped by the harsh environments around them and present unique challenges for hunters. The flagship monster of the game is Arkveld, who brings its chain-like appendages and plays an important role in the story. Now while some players may already have hunter Arkveld during the second Open Beta, there's still more to discover and learn.

Of course, it wouldn't be a Monster Hunter game without the series favorites, some of which are making a return. Players familiar with the franchise can look forward to taking on monsters from the series history, all of which have new behavior and twists.

Different Editions

The base game of Monster Hunter Wilds is priced at $69.99. Then there's the Deluxe Edition which is available for $89.99. Aside from the base game, it comes with the Deluxe Pack. Finally, there's the Premium Deluxe Edition which is offered at $109.99. It has everything in the Deluxe Edition along with the Premium Bonus, Cosmetic DLC Pack 1, and Cosmetic DLC Pack 2.
