Mini-Season Format Introduced in Fallout 76

A new update has arrived in Fallout 76 and makes a rather interesting change. In particular, Challenge Events are now called Mini Seasons. Players can find the latest one next to the current Season within the Seasons menu.

For those new to the game, Challenge Events is an excellent way for the community to gather together and earn some fun rewards. Examples include Science of Love and Pioneer Scout’s Uncharted Lands. According to developer Bethesda Game Studios, what happened was that the events apparently were easy for players to miss. This resulted in players missing out on unique rewards. The studio also said the system for unlocking the rewards resulted in confusion everytime a new event kicked off.

With the change to Mini Seasons, the studio hopes that this should make it easier for everyone to know when an event is live and make it straightforward to get the rewards.

To claim the rewards in a Mini Season, players need to use Season Tickets. Those able to complete all Event Challenges can obtain enough tickets to unlock everything. However players who have enough tickets when a Mini Season begins they can unlock all the rewards immediately. They need to make sure that they complete the Mini Season challenges and get their tickets back if the goal is to unlock all the rewards in the main season.

The studio revealed that players shouldn't worry too much since the Mini Season experience is similar to the Challenge Events. As a start, everyone gets free rewards and then invited to a challenge where they need to wear that same reward to complete it. The first Mini Season started April 22 with the Appalachian Outlaws.

The Big Bloom

Players can also look forward to the Big Bloom where they get to meet Black-Eyed Susan. She's one who loves flowers and floral arrangements though may have a penchant for violence. However, she needs help right now with her latest project.

You see Black-Eyed Susan’s favorite meadow has been overtaken by strange and plant-like beasts known as the Overgrown. It resulted in making the area too dangerous for her to pick flowers. As a result, players are invited to head over to pick some flowers, and defeat those monsters.

It's not going to be that easy since once they gather flowers and deal with the Overgrown threat, her arch nemesis appears. It's none other than Bee-zlebub, the King Bee. Players need to defeat him and claim the rewards. Word of advice though, players need to watch out for mines.

The Big Bloom begins in Fallout 76 on April 29.
