NEXON announced that the Alpha Test dates for Vindictus: Defying Fate are happening on June 8 to June 16. It’s going to be available on Steam and builds on the pre-alpha version that was tested back in March. This latest a number of key features that include companion NPCs, upgraded combat systems, and a new village and inventory system.
In celebration of this announcement, the studio has released the Alpha Test Official Trailer. It showcases more characters, features, and gameplay that players can look forward to during the official test.
New Trailer Released
The new trailer takes us to the charming and lively village key hub that is populated by charming and unique NPC’s. It is there where we get to see the character Tieve. After that we’re shown the refined and dynamic combat with different characters. The likes of Lann, Fiona, Delia, and Karok, all showcase smoother and even deadlier skills.
Meanwhile, the new Companion NPC System allows players to team up with other playable characters to challenge colossal bosses. This includes fearsome new foes like the White Tyrant and Blood Lord. These towering monsters were designed to push even the mightiest warriors to their limits.

Key Additions to the Alpha
One of the main features in the official test is the addition of two new characters. That means there are now four four playable characters. Lann and Fiona return and they’re joined by Delia and Karok.
As mentioned, the test also features the Companion NPC System. These are playable characters that fight alongside players and assist in battle. The alpha also adds new multiplayer raids in addition to the single-player content first offered in the pre-alpha build.
Other new additions are:
- New village and inventory systems added.
- New narrative elements including the main storyline and key NPCs.
- Various progression mechanics have been added, including leveling, weapon crafting, ability system, and more.
