The next big adventure is coming soon to The Elder Scrolls Online. It's a storyline that's 10 years in the making with none other than the villainous Worm Cult making a return and they're not shy in resuming their plans of domination.
For those new to the game, the Worm Cult is more formally known as the Order of the Black Worm. They were once led by Mannimarco and devoted to necromancy. Their many dark accomplishments helped the forces of Molag Bal during the Planemeld and plotted against the Mages Guild. One of these was during the Oblivion Crisis which resulted in the apparent death of Mannimarco. Members and servants of the cult are often branded with a black pentagram as a symbol of the damnation of their souls.
Part 1
Seasons of the Worm Cult Part 1 is releasing June 2 for the PC and June 18 for the Xbox and PlayStation consoles. This new content is part of the 2025 Content Pass. The new storyline and zone has players uncover and investigate the Worm Cult’s new base of operations on the tropical island of Solstice.
In particular, Part 1 has players explore Western Solstice where they quickly discover that the Worm Cult is far from defenseless. They’ve actually erected a massive arcane barrier known as the Writing Wall. They’ve used soul magic and the barrier now divides the island. The Eastern Solstice in particular have been sealed off by this arcane edifice.
Part 2
Seasons of the Worm Cult Part 2 arrives in Q4. It allows players to finally learn just what these villains have been hiding behind the arcane barrier. Remember that the Eastern Solstice is far less welcoming thanks to the Worm Cult’s malign influence.
