Game River announced that Out of Hands is all set to be released on Steam on April 22. It invites players to a deeply personal and unsettling journey through nightmares. The game puts them in the role of a protagonist that's trapped in a series of bizarre dreamscapes following the loss of a loved one.
The studio shared that once the game is launched it’s going to support Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, English, and Japanese. Support for additional languages like German, French, and Korean, are planned to be added within May.
Meanwhile, a free update is scheduled to be released in June. It’s set to introduce a replayable challenge mode which allows players to obtain more powerful cards and face even stronger enemies.
Facing Nightmares
It is within the eerie realms that players confront nightmarish entities born from negative emotions. They'll have to fight to recover lost memories and uncover deeply buried emotional scars. The fractured mind of the protagonist actually manifests as three conflicting voices which are constantly influencing decisions that could lead towards confronting the truth, succumbing to illusion, or falling into an unspeakable abyss.
A Complete Storyline
Out of Hands features a complete storyline that spans four unique nightmares. They're complemented by carefully crafted side quests and extensive map exploration. As players engage in strategic card battles, they also experience RPG progression where they grow stronger as they overcome challenges. Exploration and narrative choices directly impact the game's branching storyline and ultimate ending. The evolving deck-building system requires players to strategically manage their custom decks within a limited number of actions to counter enemy attacks and identify opportunities to strike at their core.
